Which Thermal Imaging Camera Do You Use?

June 2, 2010

Here’s a survey Im sending out to all home inspectors in US & Canada. If you still use an infrared camera or thermal imager in your line of work, let me know too!

Questions:

1. I want to know which thermal imaging camera you use?

2. Why did you buy it?

3. What kind of research did you do before choosing it?

Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions. I think there’s value in understanding what models people are using for their business and why. Answer in the comments below! Thanks!

The first infrared camera I used was the FLIR i7, but the camera that I use today is the FLIR B300. These cameras aren’t cheap, so I read blogs and asked what other people used at a home inspection conference last year.

I am a real estate agent in eugene, oregon. With the new laws concerning Lead Paint we are concerned about homeowners remodeling homes for resale and the liabilities that come with that. I know there is a type of infrared laser that can detect how much lead is in a home. Can anyone tell me anything about that?
